Most nights my mind swarms with thoughts about a wide variety of topics. Lately, those thoughts have drifted to Spring Break and the desire to go somewhere other than my house. After spending a week and a inside going nowhere and seeing no one thanks to Covid, another week of “staycation” did not sound appealing. Additionally, I find myself in a comfortable and stable financial position having jsut received my federal tax return and about to receive more stimulus money.
I knew that whatever I chose, I needed to choose responsibly since the pandemic still rages albeit with a light at the end of the tunnel. I also wanted to choose something relaxing, something that would not require a lot of plannign while also something new to experience.
The night before I first wrote this entry, I drifted off to sleep with thoughts of Hawaii on my mind, yes Hawaii.
The next morning I did something I have never done before. I put those thoughts into action and invited Mom along. That means that when this post goes live Mom and I will find ourselves in Hawaii for three days. I have booked the flights, reserved, teh car rental, and booked our lodging. We have only the final hurdle of a negative Covid test administered 72 hours or less before our flight from the mainland.
We shall see what becomes of this spur of the moment adventure, something almost entirely out of character for me.
