This month I had *only* 3 DNFs. Like last month, all of them came from book boxes. I will definitely analyze that more in my future book box subscription audit. For now, I will simply talk about them briefly since after stopping my read of them, I put them out of my mind.
I got the farthest into this book with a synopsis that had so many buzzwords for me. Unfortunately, the book itself was so odd and did not make sense. I tried for far longer than I should have before finally giving up.
I really wanted to like this book despite negative reviews. Sometimes I really enjoy campy humor that uses typical tropes sarcastically. Sometimes I don’t. I’m not sure why this book fell in the latter category for me but nothing ended up connecting for me.
I know I started this one or almost started this one but the genre – fantasy romance – and the really low average rating – less than 3.5 – meant that I decided to not waste my time with it.
