Monday, 63 minutes, 7.23 miles, 20 minute ride, 6.34 miles (.48 miles walking)
Runs on the treadmill at the gym always feel more difficult, especially when I have run outside for several days prior. The new motherboard for my treadmill should arrive Thursday so hopefully my own treadmill will get up and “running” soon. I made it through the run which felt more mentally tough than physically tough. The ride felt nice and easy as well.
Tuesday, 63 minutes with intervals, 7.29 miles, 20 minute ride, 6.47 miles (.64 miles walking)
I waffled on whether to run these intervals on the track or to head to the relatively normal inside temperature of the gym and ended up at the gym. I think the wind chill factor sealed the deal for me. On these intervals, I felt good and pushed the pace as I progressed. However, running the intervals at a prescribed pace on a treadmill feels a whole lot different then pushing yourself on the track. I actually prefer the track more now. I got it done though, and got 20 minutes in on the ride finishing a little less than a mile short of my goal for this CRAW region, same as yesterday.
Wednesday, streak mile, 1.66 miles, indoor cycle, 13.51 miles, (.59 miles walking)
My legs felt weird when I first started the single mile. I focused on maintaining good form and the kinks sorted them out. I enjoyed the ride as well and maintained a faster RPM than before to squeeze in enough miles for the day.
Thursday, 63 minutes, 7.23 miles (.65 miles walking)
I felt really good on this run. My first couple mile splits averaged 8:30 which I absolutely love because I run these at easy effort. The only reason that the later miles slow is because I walk a little at each mile. I also started contemplating future marathon goals.
Friday, 63 minutes, 7.09 miles, 28 min stationary bike, 9.11 miles ( miles walking)
Thanks to the rain, I ran this one inside. My stride felt super strong throughout the entire run. My mental focus? Not so much. I did have a bit of distraction courtesy of the pilot episode of Warehouse 13 although I had to finish the run without it since I forgot to charge my Kindle. This felt like a average, solid run. Getting in the miles on the bike felt pretty good too.
Saturday, Paris Mountain Road Race + 45 minutes, 17.83 miles
A full race report will go up on Tuesday. TD;LR = We ran up the mountain. I felt incredibly strong on the mountain. Mom made it up the mount for the first time ever! We finished well despite having to deal with a ridiculous dog that thought we were playing with it and ran with us and into the street. I also added time to the run. My legs felt a little more tired on this run, obviously. However, I kept up a really good pace and felt like I could have gone several more miles.
