Monday, 59 minutes, 6.26 miles, stationary bike., 4.50 miles (.41 miles walking)
Since I will have time for one mile and nothing more tomorrow before I head to the polls to work the whole day, I tacked on a quick 15 minute ride so that I could get to my daily goal mileage and not be as far behind.
I ran on the track at school so that I would have no excuses after YIG ended. This will likely not be an option going forward since the sun went down almost completely while I ran. I barely had enough light to finish. Fitness wise I felt pretty good although my pace decreased with each lap as the light went down. My effort felt the same though.
Tuesday, streak mile, 1.00 mile
This might go down as my earliest mile ever. I started the run at 4:50 so I could fit the mile in before heading to work at the polls.
Wednesday, 59 minutes, 7.74 miles (3.19 miles walking)
I ran inside on the treadmill so that I could use CrossFit training videos as motivation and distraction, distraction much more so than motivation. I knew that my thoughts would rattle around in my head dangerously today, a still unsettled day. I woke up not feeling great with a bit of a sinus headache. After a few hours that went away so that by the time I got onto the treadmill after 3, I felt incredible while running. I felt strong and well rested even though I had such a long day Tuesday. Perhaps I did not spend as much time on my feet as I hypothesized that I would.
Thursday, 59 minutes, 6.31 miles, 15 minute ride, 4.76 miles (.55 miles walking)
Work threw a small curveball today which meant that I did not finish in time to finish the run outside before the sun went down. Thus, I headed first to the gym to get in 15 minutes on the bike and the miles necessary to reach my CRAW goal. I did not run at the gym because all I had with me was my phone. I decided to run at home since I could watch CrossFit videos for motivation. Once I finally got on the treadmill, I could feel the work I have put into my abs with the ab challenge (day 25) and other strength training. I still felt strong and the mild DOMS meant that my muscles are getting stronger.
Friday, 59 minutes, 7.35 miles
I did not get to the run until later than I hoped so I hopped on the treadmill to run. It gets dark so early now and I have not adjusted to that. I felt fairly good throughout the run up until around mile 4. My left glute and quad started to get tight throughout the remaining two miles. It did not affect my stride and it did not hurt. I will be paying careful attention to this for sure.
Saturday, long run, 15.94 miles
I spent the first few miles focusing on my form and telling my left quad to relax. It never hurt but started to get tight nearly right away just like Friday. On this run, however, the tightness gradually released until a few miles in my stride felt strong and steady. After the 13 mile mark when Mom finished up, I had a momentary doubt about ability for no good reason but banished that negative thought right away, only two more miles on this run and I got it done.
Sunday, streak mile, 1.78, stationary bike, 13.30 miles
My legs felt pretty tired on this run so I focused on slow and steady effort. After the run, I cycled indoors for 45 minutes and got some more miles in. I got a lot sweatier than I planned likely due to an air conditioning system in the gym that had not switched back on because South Carolina weather decided to go back to the tail end of summer.
